Beta Being tested in and around Meppel. Spots and records still move around, and if something looks wrong tell us.

Terms

The rules for using RYVLS, in the order they are likely to matter to you.

Who this is between

You and OnlineChamp, which makes RYVLS: a sole trader at Weidemaat 48 in Meppel, the Netherlands, registered with the Chamber of Commerce under 61094633.

Your account

One person, one account, and you have to be sixteen or older to have one. Sixteen because that is the age at which you can agree to something like this on your own here, not because of anything in the app. Keep the mail address on the account working, because a login code is the only way back in.

Playing fairly

A record is a claim about something you did at a place, so it has to be true. Every attempt is checked, and one that could not have happened is removed along with whatever it took from somebody else. Half repetitions, a second person in the frame, a video played to the camera and a spoofed position are all the same thing.

Once is a removed attempt. Again is an account that stops working.

What you send in

Spots and photos stay yours. By sending one in you let RYVLS show it on the map, in the app and on the pages of this site, and let other players see it there. A photo has to show the place, and no face but your own.

Place names and outlines come from OpenStreetMap contributors and are used under their licence.

What is public

Pages about a place never carry a player's name. A page about a single record does, because that is what the record is.

The app itself

RYVLS needs a camera and a position to do its job, and you get it as it is. It is not promised to be there at any particular moment, to keep every feature it has today, or to work on every phone. Things come down for maintenance and things change.

The spots are not ours. We do not own, inspect or maintain a single bar, and what the app knows about a place comes from OpenStreetMap and from other players, so it can be wrong or out of date. Look at what you are about to hang from before you hang from it, and whether you are up to a set is your call and nobody else's.

Past that: we are not liable for damage that follows from using RYVLS, for an injury while training, or for a record, a spot or a district being wrong or lost. Where we are liable anyway, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it happened.

None of that covers damage we caused on purpose or through serious carelessness, or injury we caused, and none of it takes away a right you have as a consumer. A paragraph that tried to would not hold here in any case.

Money

RYVLS costs nothing. There is nothing to buy inside it and no subscription behind it. If that ever changes you will be told in the app before it does, and nothing starts costing you money without you agreeing to it first.

Ending it

You can end your account at any time, in the app or on the page for it. We can end an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless saying so would defeat the point.

Changes

These terms change when the app does. The date at the top says when they last did, and anything that affects you materially is said in the app before it takes effect.

Which law

Dutch law, and anything that cannot be settled between us goes to the Rechtbank Noord-Nederland. If you are a consumer somewhere else in the European Union, the protection your own country gives you stands whatever this paragraph says.
